Kompolje is a small village on the right bank of the river Sava in the Sevnica municipality in central Slovenia. The area is part of the historical region of Lower Carniola. The municipality is now included in the Lower Sava statistical region.[2]

The local church is dedicated to Saint George) and belongs to the Boštanj parish. It dates to the 10th century with late 17th and 18th century modifications.[3]
